Introducing fadey banners Posted on June 23rd, 2008 by

You asked for it and we delivered.

Starting right now, every area of the Gustavus website that has more than one banner got a cool visual effect. All of the banners for each section will cycle with a fadey transition. Our best example at this point is the Religion site–check it out!

We hope that this new feature will help make our pages feel a little more dynamic, interesting, and exciting.

    Correction: Introducing Fading Banners

As a student, I find this appalling that we must make up new words to describe a transition that is clearly defined and named.
Don’t get me wrong — I love the look but just don’t agree with the vocabulary in the blog.

Whoa, I certainly did not intend to offend anyone with my choice of vocabulary–I was simply keeping the tone light and playful.

Besides, I have actually received a few compliments in person on my choice of “fadey” in the title for this post. So, who’s right anyway? Should we have a thumb-wrestling match and see who wins? Or does it actually not matter that much?
