Gone the Way of the JoeJoe Posted on May 31st, 2012 by

There’s no way to sugar coat this. The web team is going to be severely understaffed starting in July.

Personal circumstance has led me to search for, and take employment in Indiana. I have taken a job at Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, IN as the Assistant Director of Web Communications.

The Gustavus community has served me well these past 5 years and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of it. I’d like to thank GTS for welcoming me into their family and treating me like their son. You guys and gals are great. I’d also like to thank my colleagues in our shared office: Jerry, Billy and (the departed) Joe. They have contributed immensely to furthering my education in the ever changing environment of the web. Pudding time will be severely missed.

My legacy to the Gustavus website includes:

  • Converting all the javascript sitewide to use Modernizr
  • Contributions to Google Map Maker to make Google Maps for our campus more accurate and more helpful.
  • Reorganization of Telecom and Print and Mail websites.
  • Installation and configuration of the Symfony PHP framework.
  • Rides

If you feel the urge to friend/follow/addtocircle me, my social media profiles are listed below:

I’m happy I had the chance to work with you, Patrick. I’m glad you feel like your time was productive, and I can certainly say that I learned a lot from you as well. You’re going to do great things in Indiana!
